Contracts & E-Signatures

Sending a contract

A contract can have up to 4 named signers, each assigned a role — Client, Issuer, Witness, or Party. Each signer gets a unique, secure link by email, so they only ever see and sign their own copy.

Tracking status

The contract detail page shows every signer's current status — pending, sent, or signed — and once someone signs, their actual captured signature is displayed right on the document for the record.

Contract stages

A contract moves through Draft → Sent → Signed → Executed, or can be marked Voided if it falls through.

Resending

A per-signer Resend button adapts to what makes sense for that signer — resending a signed copy for reference, nudging someone who hasn't signed yet, or sending the contract for the first time. You can also just copy a signer's link directly if you'd rather share it yourself.

Addendums

Need to change something after signing has started? Creating an addendum resets every signer back to pending so everyone re-signs the updated version — while the original signed version is kept intact for your records, so nothing about the original agreement is lost.

Design and templates

Contracts share the same letterhead, custom sections, and attachment tools as your other documents, plus a dedicated panel for changing the design and template. Save a contract's setup as a template to reuse it for future clients.

Turning an invoice into a contract

If you started with an invoice, use Convert to Contract on the invoice detail page rather than building one from scratch.
